About this Masterclass:
We all know strong endings are crucial for a reader to move on to your next book. We (humans) put a disproportionate weight on endings. I mean, think about it: What was the last movie or TV show you saw or book you read where the ending was, in your opinion, terrible? Maybe it was a great story up until that point. Would you recommend that book or movie or TV show to a friend, knowing the ending sucked? Or might your recommendation always carry the caveat of "but the ending was bad"?
You have GOT to stick the landing if you want your storytelling career to keep thriving. We all know this. And it can become a source of massive anxiety for an author.
But it doesn't have to be. In fact, I coach authors through this regularly to make sure they finish strong every time. There are tricks to this. Phew, right?
Sharing those tricks is why I'm so excited to put on the Five-Star Power Endings Masterclass.
In my author career, I've written books where I didn't have a clue what the final act would look like, and I've written books where I had a general idea of the ending before I ever started page one and had little doubt that I would absolutely serve up a hot place of satisfaction for my readers in the climax and resolution. Guess which books were more enjoyable to write?
Crazy but true: writing is way more fun when your brain is telling you, "This is gonna be awesome!" instead of "What a train wreck! How could I possible pull this all together? This is going to end my career."
You don't have to be a plotter to know from the start that you're going to nail the ending. As with all strong stories, it's just about knowing what questions to ask yourself... and when. I'm going to show you what those questions are so you know how to hit all the impactful notes of your book or series.
The class will consist of a lesson with examples, and questions for you along the way. At the end of the lesson, you'll be able to ask me anything you want about your WIP ending or endings in general.
