About this MASTERCLASS:
One of the worst insults a reader can give is, “That character never would have done that!”
But there are ways to guarantee that doesn’t happen, and it’s all found within getting to know your characters at a core level.
This workshop is a dive into how the enneagram can be used to build stronger and clearer character motivations in our fiction. Every other storytelling skill builds off this one, so we want to make sure we master it!
I’ll be showing you how to use the Enneagram framework to develop strong characters and define the right kind of conflict for them. We won’t be going deep into each of the nine Enneagram types, but rather learning how the tool works for fiction so that you can begin to learn more about it through self-study.
Registration includes access to a 30-day replay for those unable to attend at the scheduled time.
What is the Enneagram?
The Enneagram is a personality typing system, where each person falls into one of nine types. Only nine types of people, you ask? Well, there’s more to it than that. Much more.
Each type is defined by a core motivation, and that’s why it’s so useful for writing fiction. When we know our characters’ core motivations—that is, the underlying fear and desire that drives their decisions—we know exactly how to inspire them into action that makes perfect sense for our story and to our readers.
