Before you spend another dollar on perfecting your writing craft or mastering the latest marketing trend…
Before you dedicate another minute to chasing algorithms on the next social media platform…
Pause. Take a deep breath. Let’s get clear on what truly matters: how you want your writing career to serve you.
You didn’t start writing to burn out, to measure your worth by word counts, sales figures, or review scores. You started because storytelling lights you up, because you have something to say. And it’s time to reconnect with that purpose.
You are so much more than a writer.
You are a deeply intricate, evolving human being with a limited number of years to live out your passion. And your passion deserves to fuel your life, not drain it.
The Liberated Writer course will help you step back, reset, and reclaim the joy, flow, and creative fire you once had. We’ll dive deep into what motivates you—not just as an author, but as a human being.
This isn’t about churning out another book under pressure. It’s about building a sustainable, nourishing writing career that will last—one that supports your mental, emotional, and creative well-being for the long haul.
Writing is a part of you, but it’s not all of you. Let’s create space for both the writer and the whole human to thrive.
Together, we’ll shape a career that doesn’t just fill pages but fills your soul.
The time to reclaim your passion is now. Let’s make it last.
About the Course
This course is created and facilitated by me, Claire Taylor—an experienced, certified Enneagram coach who has helped countless authors build creatively and financially sustainable careers since 2018.
If you’re ready to step off the treadmill of hustle culture and reconnect with the core of who you are as a writer and a person, this course is your turning point.
We’ll use the Enneagram framework to help you deepen your self-knowledge and reconnect to your values and desires. From that place of clarity, you’ll finally be able to sift through the overwhelming list of “shoulds” in publishing and focus on what truly moves you forward in a way that feels fulfilling, not depleting.
In publishing, we’re surrounded by endless “hustle” games offer us vague promises of fame and fortune and usually deliver disappointment and burnout instead. One day we feel like we’re winning, the next we feel like we’re losing, and all because we’ve tied our sense of fulfillment to what we feel should matter to us, not to what truly does.
We chase sales, reviews, and external validation, but in doing so, we often neglect what’s fully within our control—our thoughts, our emotions, our actions.
This course helps you flip that dynamic in your life. You’ll learn how to shift your focus inward, reclaim control over the things that do matter, and build a writing life that nourishes you—mentally, emotionally, and creatively.
During our five weeks together, you’ll rediscover what it means to be a fulfilled, thriving author—not just someone who gets by.
Let’s replace burnout, stress, and regret with clarity, joy, and sustainable success. You have the power to change course in your writing journey, and this course will show you how.
What is the Enneagram?
If you’ve found this page, there’s a good chance you already know a little bit about the Enneagram, but here’s how it’s defined by David Daniels, M.D. and Virginia Price, Ph.D. in their book The Essential Enneagram:
The Enneagram is a powerful and dynamic personality system that describes nine distinct and fundamentally different patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting. […] These patterns determine what individuals of each personality type pay attention to and how they direct their energy and behavior.
The Enneagram is not a gimmicky test created my marketers to scrape email addresses. It’s been developed over many centuries, pulling shared wisdom and knowledge from a variety of traditions and teachings, and has been improved and refined by spiritual teachers, psychologists, and clinicians.
Learning your Enneagram type helps you see the patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and actions that have influenced your life without you knowing. By recognizing these patterns, you understand that you have been seeing life through a specific "lens" that filters out certain information, restricting your understanding of yourself and others, and causing you to repeat the same cycles.
However, if you want different results, you must try different patterns. And if you want to live a rich, wholehearted life, you must broaden your lens.
The Enneagram framework is a proven map for doing that.
The Liberated Writer 5-Week Course
Dates: January 13th - February 13th, 2025
Enrollment closes: January 9th, 2025
This course includes:
The iEQ9 Questionnaire + 23-page report to determine your Enneagram type and subtype (normally $60)
Written lessons
Deep-dive videos
Writing reflections
2x/wk live group calls with Claire - Mondays & Thursdays @ noon Central
Access to recordings of group calls
→The iEQ9 Questionnaire
Every author who enrolls in the course will be sent the iEQ9 Questionnaire. Taking this questionnaire will determine with 95% accuracy your Enneagram type and subtype. This is the most accurate Enneagram assessment on the market, and I have confidence that it will clear things up, especially if you’ve taken other tests and felt unsure whether the results were accurate for you. The confidence we can have in the results of the iEQ9 allow us to stop wondering about type and start seeing how it shows up in us. As long as you complete the questionnaire prior to the course, you’ll get the most out of our five weeks together. If you’ve already completed the assessment, you’re welcome to take it again, but the results very likely will be the same. You can also opt out and save yourself the 30-50 minutes the questionnaire usually requires. Just let me know your preference.
→Monday discussions
This is open to all students each week and takes place on Mondays at noon Central. We’ll spend 90 minutes together via Zoom to reflect and share those reflections on a weekly prompt. There’s usually also time to discuss the writing-related struggles you’re having that week. This is a wonderful time to learn not only more about yourself but also recognize how you fundamentally differ from other authors and why those differences are important. (pro tip: these discussions will help you write stronger characters!)
Note: If the call times don’t work for you, there will be replays available!
→Material (Monday-Thursday)
This is the time when participants will be asked to read the material and watch the accompanying video(s) on that week’s topics. While I know we all live busy lives, folks will be best served doing this between Monday and Thursday of that week to keep pace with the class and use the live calls to the maximum effect. Expect the reading portion to take about 30-60 minutes to complete. Videos range from 5-20 minutes each.
→Reflection questions (Monday-Thursday)
Reflection questions will typically take 15-60 minutes to complete, depending on how deep you go and how much time you need to think. Reflections are designed to deepen understanding of the concepts and tie them into your writing career. They’ll also help you formulate questions you may still have to ask in the live Q&As. The authors who get the most out of this course are consistently the ones who complete all the reflections.
Thursday Q&A calls
As you go through the weekly course material and respond to the reflection questions, you might have additional questions that arise. Every reflection form includes an opportunity for you to ask me questions that I’ll answer during our Thursday Q&As at noon Central. We’ll spend 90 minutes together via Zoom going over the pre-submitted questions and answering any other questions that folks bring with them or that arise during the session. If you are unable to attend the live calls, you can still submit your questions ahead of time through the reflection form and I’ll be sure to answer everything on the recording for you to watch back when convenient!
***Enrollment closes on January 9th, 2025! ***
About me
Some know me as the owner of FFS Media and a fiction strategist. I was also the host of the Sell More Books Show, a popular weekly publishing podcast, for nearly three years. Or you might’ve seen me on stage somewhere, talking about the Enneagram for authors.
First and foremost, though, I'm a fiction author with 40+ books across multiple pen names.
My passion lies in telling a story that sticks with readers long after they finish the last page. And that amazing feeling compels me to help authors hold onto that passion and unlock a love for their gifts.
Once I started incorporating the Enneagram framework into my writing and author strategy, it all clicked for me.
This! This simple-yet-complex personality typing system was what I'd been looking for!
Now I help other authors learn about themselves through their Enneagram lens to better understand their deepest motivation and avoid burnout by building a sustainable career path to inspire joy, adventure, passion, and healthy curiosity for years to come.
I’m a Certified Advanced Instructor of the Enneagram Spectrum of Personality Styles and an Integrative Enneagram Accredited Practitioner, both of which are accredited by the International Enneagram Association (IEA). I host virtual workshops and masterclasses, teach courses (like this one!), and present at live events on how authors can use the Enneagram to improve their career and lives.
When I’m not writing my own fiction, this is what I love to do.
There are plenty of forces in this world trying to crush our creative dreams, and it takes a lot of support, wisdom, and rebellious joy to pursue what we love in this one life.
I’ve designed this course so the insight you gain from it will guide you toward purposeful and passionate engagement with your career for years to come.
The only thing that can stop you from writing is you. You’re also the only thing that can keep you writing throughout the coming days, weeks, and years. This course shows you that path forward.
