Reclaim Your Author Career

6 months group coaching

Ready to take your career to the next level by aligning the aspects of your writing life to YOU?

This six-month program is the next step you need to take control of your work… and your life.

We start by discovering your Enneagram type—that is, the core fear and core desire that lie at the heart of how you interact with others, and the lens through which you see the world.

This is the key to unlocking your alignment. It’s your true “why.” Understanding how it shows up in your life—for better or worse—is the first step to reclaiming control of your creative joy.

What happens when we bring our powerhouse gifts to our storytelling business?

First of all, we love what we do each day.

But not to be overlooked—people gladly pay us for what we love to do.

Find your people

As an author, you necessarily enjoy a lot of alone time as you think and get those words down. But that doesn’t mean this is a career you thrive in all on your own without fellow authors who support you. When you join group coaching, you’ll meet 2-3 other people as dedicated to this pursuit as you are who will learn and share alongside you and understand why you do what you do.

Of all the good decisions I’ve made in this business, the best by far was making strong connections with other indie authors (even when being a class-A introvert sounded way better).

By creating this honest and authentic environment, I want to help you find those people for your career.

What does coaching include?

  1. Six 90-minute calls, one per month, led by me, Claire Taylor. Each call will cover one of the main topics of the Reclaim Your Author Career approach: Enneagram, Creative Values, Persona, Theme, and Protagonists. The final month will focus on bringing it all together. Participants are expected to read each section of Reclaim Your Author Career prior to the corresponding meeting.

During our 90 minutes together, I’ll guide authors deeper into the concepts, ask questions, problem solve for individuals, and help authors pinpoint action items for the next month. Classes will open with individual updates from the previous month—wins and revelations—and then proceed into the course material with group discussions, hot seats, and reflections.

  2. Monthly office hours when you can drop in, ask me your questions, and essentially get free one-on-one consulting.

  3. Email support. I receive a lot of emails, but I’ll make yours a priority.

How many people are in each class?

Each group will include no more than 4 authors to foster high-value discussions and allow for personalized feedback. Authors will need to have availability during the scheduled class times.

My individual consulting costs $250 for a 60-minute session, but you can get a 90-minute call + 90 minutes of monthly office hours for the same price (or save $150 by paying all at once) when you sign up for author coaching.

Only 8 slots are available in the October-March cohort, and 3 were already claimed during the RYAC Kickstarter.

Claire Taylor

Claire Taylor is an indie author and fiction strategist, working with authors to build careers that fill them up and keep them going through the ups and downs of the business.

She uses her background in teaching, editing, and storytelling along with the Enneagram framework to help authors understand their stories, themselves, and the world around them more deeply.

As an Enneagram 1 (the Reformer), her mission is to decrease suffering within the industry by empowering individual authors to shake off comparisonitis, drop bullshit “shoulds,” and resist the shiny object syndrome that keeps human beings miserable. She helps authors discover their gifts, identify their meaningful desires, and confront the fears that are holding them back from the creative satisfaction they deserve every day.
